Investigators claim that a San Francisco streetcar that struck another train from behind last month may have been traveling 17 miles-per-hour in a three miles-per-hour zone. The accident injured a dozen people many of which were hospitalized.

Nathaniel Ford, a MTA director (Municipal Transportation Agency) was reported to have stated that there was no indication the speeding train slowed down before the collision. Investigators are also looking into whether the operator of the Street Car may have been on his phone at the time of the accident
